Frequently Asked PuddingStore Questions

I get asked plenty about the ol’ PuddingStore all the damn time. Here’s a few examples!

So, why ‘thePuddingStore’?
Many people ask me of the history of the legendary web-page known as the PuddingStore. Here, for the first time ever, is that illustrious tale:

It was the summer of 2000. We (being me, Adrienne, Mat, Nat, and Allison.. no.. Dave was not there. He was better than us that day!!), were sitting around in Allisons basement and had just watched the movie "Mall-Rats" a quite funny movie. After the movie had ended, we watched commercials while the tape rewinded (or rewound for those edu-macated types). Someone noticed that at the end of most commercials, there was a web-page for that particular company (no big deal so far, eh?). Then came our inspiration; a Bill Cosby Jello-Pudding commercial.. but no web-page!!

We were shocked! There needed to be a web-page devouted to the selling of pudding! I don't know whether itwas me or Mat who actually came up with the idea that it should be us, but someone did. We did a check, and for some unknown reason, there were no "www.thepuddingstore.com". This was our opportunity.. but, since we were all slackers, no one did a damn thing about it (doesn't that just make you proud?).

Several months passed, PuddingStore free. We hung out and stuff, but then, Mat moved to Jasper Alberta... Allison moved to Halifax, soon to be followed by Dave... Nat then moved to Sackville, hill-billy capital of NB. I knew that now was the time... now the PuddingStore had to be made!

And so I did. Good story, huh? So, to summarize, it was a conglomerate idea to make the page, but it was all up to James to make it marketable!

How many people run this joint?
Well, over the years there have been quite a few admins on thePS, writing articles, making splash pages, occasionally even core-page posts! I think at the peak there were 8 admins. Now it’s pretty much just me (James) with some help sometimes. They write articles sometimes, and you'll still see the occasional splash page that I didn't make, and even the odd core-post! The forum is pretty lively sometimes though. If you wanna talk to someone who isn’t me but wants to talk PuddingStore, there would be your best bet.

How can I contact you?
Well, I already mentioned the forum. There’s a link to it over on the left there in that menu thing. It’s right above “Links” and right below the one you would have had to have clicked on to get here to read this. I check that every few hours, as I’m usually online and bored. If you want less public contact, feel free to email me at nerdbody@hotmail.com. That too gets checked pretty frequently (as I’m usually on MSN messenger).

Do you know Bill Cosby?
Does anybody REALLY know Bill Cosby?

Well, if you don’t know Bill Cosby, why would I want to contact you?
I dunno... I can be pretty interesting at times, I guess. And I’m friendly. Usually people I don’t know contact me to figure out things like “What was the name of Prince Adam’s cat?” or “Where did Larry and Balki work on ‘Perfect Strangers’?” so I’m good for that too.

What was the name of Prince Adam’s cat
Kringer. Unless Prince Adam’s name is currently He-Man; then it’s BattleCat.

Where did Larry and Balki work on ‘Perfect Strangers’?
The Chicago Tribune. Originally in the mail room, but then they moved up to the cartoon section when Balki started making a comic-strip about his stuffed toy sheep.

Do you have any actual webpage creating skill at all?
Not really, no. Pretty much all I know is HTML and everything I know about HTML I learned in grade 11 and 12A computer class or stole it from other people or had my friends show how that neat thing worked and then stole it from them. While I’m at it, I should also mention that my photo-editing skills are also pretty sub-par.

I’m new to this ‘PuddingStore' thing - where’s a good place to start?
Splash page, then core. After that, I dunno. I myself like the articles. I read the older ones fairly often as I usually forget what I wrote in them. Some of them, I’m told, can be a fairly entertaining read and can kill anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours. There’s literally that much crap on here!

That’s all for now. Got any questions you want to frequently ask me? Well, look up to the contact section and get yer question to me.
